About Spring Creek Farms

We specialize in custom processing and delivery of delicious pasture raised meat products. We are located at the edge of the Tiger Hills just South of Cypress River.

Our meat shop is known as Cypress Meats & More. Here we can produce almost any meat product you could ever ask for. You will find our products at premium locations such as at Cramptons Market, St. Leons Farmers Market and at Stella's Restaurant. We are also members of the Harvest Moon Local Food Initiative with distribution in Winnipeg and Brandon.

We have many individual cuts for direct sale, a bulk subscription program and we also do custom butchering of whole animals. People can either pick up meat directly from the shop, or we have regular deliveries all over Manitoba. Most of our product is inspected and for direct sale, but we do also specialize in emergency animal harvest, hunted animals and custom processing of locally farmed livestock.

On our farm, we raise grass fed beef, pasture pork, pasture chicken and pasture turkey. We also have partners who raise bison and sheep. Our farms raise these animals using holistic management which is a decision making model with soil health as the main focus. The livestock are allowed to exhibit all of their natural behaviours on our pastures and are constantly moved to fresh ground. This is how we are able to successfully raise healthy animals without the use of antibiotics or chemical dewormers or any hormones. Our animals grow slowly and eat a much more natural diet in our system which gives our meat delicious rich, deep flavours and textures.

You can feel good that our animals live a happy life and are used to regenerate the environment. Our History

The Spring Creek Farm meat shop was originally Cypress Meats and More, operated by Greg Wood in Cypress River.

After a fire burned down the meat shop in 2014, Greg's with his partner Lisa and step-children Andy and Jessica, relocated the Meat Shop to their farm south of town. To keep the shop going they built a new shop using Shipping Containers, which is a cheap and highly portable solution. The new shop consists of a 40' meat shop/cooler container, 2 40' reefer containers, a 20' smoker, 40' office an a couple of storage/utility containers.

Following Greg's untimely passing in 2018, the meat shop has relocated to the Brad and Leanne Anderson Farm just 4 miles away. Aside from some of the preparation and utility work, the move took us only 5 hours! Smart to have built something highly portable.

This new partnership is exciting and we are working hard to make this business venture growing..
